After milliner Erin Saboe fabricates each hat, using antique wooden blocks, she embellishes them with vintage ribbons, hand-sewn silk flowers, feathers, and veiling.

The Kentucky Derby is held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May, and this 1.25 mile race for three-year-old thoroughbreds is as famous for it’s the hats as it is for horses.
